From a flat PDF to editable CAD

No tracing, no raster guesswork. PDF-Plot pulls the real vector geometry that AutoCAD baked into the PDF and reconstructs the drawing it came from.

Upload the PDF
Drop a black-and-white CAD PDF — civil, survey, architectural, structural, or any discipline. It only needs to be a vector PDF — a native CAD plot. Scanned raster images are detected and rejected, never traced.

Read the linework
Every embedded path is read straight from the PDF at full precision — endpoints, line weights, dash patterns, arcs, and text, exactly as plotted.

Restore original layers
Each entity is put back on the exact layer the drafter drew it on — the original layer name read straight from the PDF, with its original ACI color and linetype. Nothing is renamed, reclassified, or forced into a standard scheme.

Export layered DXF
Download a clean, layered, color-restored DXF (R2010) that opens natively in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or any CAD package — plus an SVG preview.

Not a flat dump — your original layers back

Plotting to PDF drops every entity onto a single black layer — the layer names, colors, and linetypes disappear from view even though the vector geometry itself is still in the file. PDF-Plot gives you the drafter's exact layers back: it reads the original layer names embedded in the PDF and restores each layer's original ACI color and linetype. Nothing is renamed and nothing is forced into a standard taxonomy — the DXF carries the same layer names, colors, and linetypes the drawing was authored with: selectable, freezable, and editable exactly as drawn.

Distances proven against the drawing

PDF-Plot doesn't just trace linework — it checks it. Each merged boundary line is validated against the sheet's own distance callouts before it's rebuilt, and when bearings and distances are labeled, it runs the full traverse and reports closure error, precision ratio, and area. Geometry it can't prove is left exactly as drawn, never invented.
